Moonlight ELD will work with the PT30 ELD device. You can purchase the PT30 from us by calling (an online store will be available soon).
Most Android and iPhone/iPad devices are compatible with the Moonlight ELD app. For optimal performance and to prevent service interruptions, it is recommended to use a separate tablet (Android or iPad) with Moonlight ELD.
Moonlight ELD can connect to standard 9-pin, 6-pin, and OBDII diagnostic ports. For Mack or Volvo trucks from 2013 or newer, a special cable harness is provided. Y-cables are also available for discreet installation.
Yes, Moonlight ELD supports team driving, allowing up to nine co-drivers to manage their Hours of Service (HOS) and access inspections and documents from a shared device. Drivers can seamlessly switch between profiles without needing to log in and out, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience for team drivers.
The Moonlight ELD app remains functional offline. The Moonlight ELD will continue to collect GPS and vehicle data from the vehicle’s diagnostic port (ECM) and transfer it to the Driver App. Once the mobile device reconnects to the internet, the data will automatically sync and back up to Moonlight ELD’s servers.
If a driver forgets to log into their Driver App and connect to the Vehicle Gateway before driving, or if the connection is interrupted, the Moonlight ELD will still record all driving time under an unidentified driver profile to ensure compliance with ELD regulations. Once the driver reconnects to the Vehicle Gateway, they will be prompted to accept or reject any trips recorded under the unidentified driver profile.
Yes, Moonlight ELD supports both Personal Conveyance and Yard Move categories, provided these options are enabled by the fleet manager. When a driver selects Personal Conveyance, any driving time recorded by the Vehicle Gateway is classified as off-duty time. Conversely, selecting Yard Move categorizes the driving time as on-duty. Fleet managers have the ability to enable or disable these special driving categories.
